Hi, I'm Usagi! Mina-chan and I are surprised to see Ami-chan today. She's dressed in bright orange, from head to toe.
"Ami-chan." I said dubiously. "What's that?"
"It doesn't suit you at all." Mina-chan says. "What were you thinking?"
"But it's for a good cause!" Ami-chan retorts angrily. "It's the Day for Truth and Reconciliation."
"The what?" I asked.
"Where?" Mina-chan asks.
Our words make everything worse. Ami-chan starts crying. She calls us idiots, heartless, and runs off. Mako-chan and Rei-chan arrive later.
"Hi, Usagi-chan!" Mako-chan said.
"Isn't Ami-chan with you?" Asks Rei-chan.
"No, she left in tears after we talked to her." Mina-chan explains.
"What?!" Rei-chan said, anger rumbling in her voice. "What have you two done?"
"Nothing at all!" I retort. "I just asked her 'what's that?' because she was wearing orange and it was weird!"
"You insulted her." Mako-chan said. "Unintentionally, but you still insulted her."
"But that's ridiculous!" Mina-chan retorted. "We didn't say anything mean!"
"That's true!"
"U-SA-GI!" Rei-chan shouts. "You're going to find her and apologize. You too, Minako!"
No matter how much we scream, Rei-chan won't listen. She and Mako-chan force us to go in search of Ami-chan.
We find her sitting on a bench. Her laptop is open and she seems engrossed in her screen.
"Uh..." Mako-chan said. "It's true that it's strange to see Ami-chan wearing orange."
"Mako, not you too!" Rei-chan replies. "A little respect, please."
Rei-chan says hello to Ami-chan.
"Hello, Rei-chan." She replied, without taking her eyes off the screen.
"Usagi and Mina-chan have something to tell you."
"Really?" Ami-chan said a little dismissively.
"Yes. Come on, you two, tell her."
"We're sorry, Ami-chan." I said with Mina-chan.
Ami-chan doesn't answer. She keeps looking at her computer.
"Uh, Ami-chan?" Mako-chan asks.
"What's the point of apologizing if it's not sincere? You didn't even try to find out why I'm wearing orange today!"
"But..." Mako-chan wanted to say before being interrupted.
"Let alone what Day for Truth and Reconciliation is all about! Are you so insensitive to the causes of other countries?"
"But Ami-chan, we don't know..." begins Rei-chan.
"EXACTLY!" Ami-chan yells, as she closes her computer.
"Why don't you explain what it is?" I asked, thinking this would calm her down.
"That's a great idea." Mina-chan adds.
Ami-chan refrains from shouting at us, then sighs.
"It's not going to work. You won't understand, anyway."
With that, Ami-chan left again, leaving us in ignorance and frustration. Logic dictates that I should seek out and find out what this 'Day of Truth and Reconciliation' is. Then I could make amends with Ami-chan. But I don't want to do that and neither does Mina-chan. As for Rei-chan and Mako-chan, they're discouraged.
